Ali Norell
Ali Norell is an author from Brighton, UK. Since childhood, she has been a prolific writer of journals, plays, poetry, essays and stories, but it was following the death of her daughter, Romy, in 2014 that she began to write with purpose.
This began with a blog, Remembering Romy, which helped Ali to process her grief and allow others to gain an insight into her experience. Following a positive reception, and while juggling two young children and a breastfeeding newborn, she wrote The Truth Inside, an homage to Romy and an account of the occurrences and beliefs that sustained her during her darkest times.
Ali holds an honours degree in English and European Literature from the University of Warwick (1994) and is currently completing an MA level diploma in Creative Writing with New Writing South in Brighton, U.K. She is a qualified healer recognised by the Healing Trust and has trained in freefall writing as therapy with the Gestalt Centre in London. She has held a lifelong interest in the Tarot and often references the cards for inspiration, or to give guidance to clients.
Ali is passionate about passing on all that she knows to enable others to use the craft of writing to ease their life path. She loves to teach with humour, creativity and grace.
Ali lives in Brighton with her husband, three children and two cats and, alongside teaching creative writing, is currently immersed in the writing of a historical novel.
